AECOM makes new UK flood management appointment

AECOM has  appointed Shirel Stedman as director of Central and Local Government Partnerships within its European water practice.

Formerly with Halcrow Group Ltd. for 10 years, Shirel Stedman has recently been responsible for the delivery of large and complex flooding-related technical projects as well as undertaking the local government sales director role within the Europe region, leading all activities related to sales success in the local authority market.

Stedman has significant experience of managing contracts through the Public Sector Commission (PSC) and Environment Agency procedures under both NEECA and SFRM Frameworks and also with British Waterways during her role as project director for the PSC Framework.

Peter Myers, UK Operations Director for AECOM’s water practice in Europe, comments:

“AECOM’s expertise in flood management is being increasingly recognised within the UK, and the appointment of Shirel is a key strategic appointment to further strengthen our team. She will be responsible for increasing market share within the central and local government sector. Shirel is the first of several significant appointments we are making in this sector to accommodate our growing workload.”
