Emergency Planning & Incident Management: How have "Lessons Learnt" changed what we do?
The conference will take stock of the changes that have taken place in the planning and management of the response to flood incidents in the knowledge of lessons learnt both from actual events and from exercises over recent months.
Objectives
- To identify the key issues related to planning and responding to flood incidents.
- To explore the change journey which has taken place for the Environment Agency, local authorities (spatial planners and incident managers), water companies and emergency responders.
- To understand how better forecasting of severe events is being undertaken, disseminated and how it has improved the response capability.
- To understand where is the lead in the recovery phase and what can now be provided to affected communities.
- To contribute to the debate of "What Next" and how the expectations of communities can be balanced against the technical and financial constraints which exist.
